Where It All Began

Marius and Mireille realized it was time for a massive life change after Covid-19 swept through the world. They decided it was time to leave South Africa for broader horizons — and there are no broader horizons than the middle of the ocean.

The couple purchased Aventura in Cape Town and loaded her with a few personal belongings (including three surfboards, of course), their two dogs, and Marius's parents — with all their belongings too — before setting sail west.

After a few adventures, and almost a few misadventures, Aventura sailed into her new home and dropped anchor in the north anchorage of Bocas del Toro.

After a year of physical, mental and legal work, Surfnsail was up and running — and the rest is history.
